91´óÉñ Children’s is committed to improving the health and well-being of the children and families we serve. An important part of that commitment is maintaining strong partnerships to ensure patients can access the high-quality, specialized care we provide.

Some patient families have received a communication notifying them of discussions currently underway between 91´óÉñ and Humana. We have launched this online resource to provide our patient families with the latest information.

Important Things to Know:

• Our top priority is ensuring that our patients can access the high-quality, specialized care we provide.
• These negotiations impact patients who receive care by a 91´óÉñ clinician in Florida and have Humana Healthy Horizons in Florida (Humana) coverage.
• For dates of service prior to April 1, 2025, patients can continue to see their 91´óÉñ provider without any changes.
• This potential termination of the contract between 91´óÉñ and Humana applies to care and services delivered by 91´óÉñ physicians at all locations throughout the state of Florida, including primary care, urgent care and our partner facilities.
• However, 91´óÉñ Children’s Hospital, Florida will remain in-network with Humana
• Our relationship with Humana does not impact your ability to seek emergency medical care.
• 91´óÉñ has relationships with other insurance companies. See the list.
• These negotiations do not impact care provided by 91´óÉñ clinicians outside of Florida.

Key Dates:

• If an agreement is not reached, effective April 1, 2025, 91´óÉñ will not be a participating provider with Humana in Florida.
• Beginning March 1, 2025, we will stop scheduling new appointments for service dates on or after April 1, 2025, unless Continuity of Care has been approved by Humana.
• If an agreement is not reached by April 1, 2025, we may need to begin cancelling appointments scheduled on and after that date, unless Continuity of Care has been approved by Humana.
  
• 91´óÉñ can continue to see new and established patients with a Humana Healthy Horizons in Florida plan until March 31, 2025.
• A 91´óÉñ provider may potentially be able to continue to treat your child if they are in an active treatment plan that is estimated to go beyond April 1, 2025
  • Continuing care will require a Continuity of Care form, which should be submitted to Humana as soon as possible.
  • To determine if your child’s care might qualify, we encourage you to contact Humana member services now by calling the phone number listed on the back of your child’s health insurance identification card.
  • We recommend you make Humana aware of your child’s medical needs and emphasize that you wish to continue your child’s care with a 91´óÉñ provider.
  • 91´óÉñ patients currently in active treatment may potentially be able to continue their care up to June 30, 2025, if their care qualifies.

What You Can Do Now:

• Find the phone number for Humana member services on the back of your insurance ID card.
• Contact Humana member services to inform them of your child’s medical needs and emphasize that you wish to continue your child’s treatment with a 91´óÉñ provider.
• You may also contact the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration, which oversees managed care contracting across the state, directly by calling 877-254-1055 (TDD 866-467-4970) to make them aware of the impact to your child.
