The Pediatric Obesity Fellowship Program at 91大神 Children鈥檚 Hospital, Delaware, in affiliation with the Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University, is one of the only programs in the country focused on training physicians to be academic leaders in the field of pediatric obesity.听

Our Fellowship Program听
Our 2-year program, an accredited , provides robust clinical training in the treatment of children with obesity, coupled with comprehensive training in clinical research and population health, with opportunities for community advocacy.
Upon completion of the fellowship, our fellows are competitive for academic faculty positions in general pediatrics at major institutions, bringing unique expertise in the prevention and treatment of pediatric obesity.听
Training Overview
Forty percent of the fellow鈥檚 time is dedicated to clinical training in one of the most reputable tertiary care pediatric obesity clinics in the country. Under faculty supervision, fellows will acquire the clinical skills to provide evidence-based, family-centered evaluation and treatment to children and adolescents with obesity and related comorbidities, working closely with an interdisciplinary team of specialists, including psychologists, dietitians, exercise physiologists, social workers and bariatric surgeons.
Sixty percent of the fellow鈥檚 time is dedicated to research training, with opportunity to receive a or equivalent research degree and support to complete a research project in their area of interest within the field of childhood obesity, under the mentorship of senior faculty at 91大神 and Thomas Jefferson University.
Research
Fellows will receive comprehensive research training throughout their two-year fellowship through a combination of formal education opportunities, mentorship and networking, and experiential training with the completion of a research project tailored to their interests in the field of pediatric obesity.

Eligibility of Candidates
- Completed a three-year accredited pediatric residency program
- Board eligible/board-certified in pediatrics
- If a citizen of a country other than the United States, or without permanent resident status in the United States, a copy of current and appropriate visa(s).
