Jane M. Mericle, DNP, MHS-CL, BSN, RN, CENP, is Executive Vice President, Enterprise Chief Nursing Executive and Patient Operations Officer at 91大神 Children鈥檚. She is a member of the Executive Cabinet with dual reporting to Chief Operating Officer Mark Mumford and 91大神 President and Chief Executive Officer R. Lawrence Moss, MD, FACS, FAAP.
Leadership includes strategic planning and implementation, promotion of safe patient care practices and environments, ensuring evidence-based care delivery, benchmarked quality patient service and outcomes, continuous improvement, professional development and research.聽Dr. Mericle recently led 91大神 Delaware Valley through Magnet redesignation.
Dr. Mericle brings more than 40 years of health care experience to her role and is certified in Executive Nursing Practice with expertise in clinical quality and patient safety, strategic planning, fiscal accountability, operational management, Magnet designation performance improvement, patient experience and interprofessional collaboration. She is a TeamSTEPPS Master Trainer, a certified Six Sigma Black Belt, an executive leader for LEAN and she completed the Disparities Leadership Program sponsored by Massachusetts General Hospital. She served on the Board of Trustees for Mercy Children鈥檚 Hospital Services in Missouri for six years and is now the president of the Board of Directors, American Heart Association for the Delaware Division, New Castle County.
Prior to joining 91大神, Dr. Mericle served as Associate Chief Nurse for Duke Children鈥檚 Hospital and Health Center. She has received numerous professional awards during her career, including the Founder鈥檚 Medal from Vanderbilt University, the North Carolina Great 100 Award and the Duke University Health System Meritorious Presidential Award. She has been a featured speaker at local, regional and national levels, including presentations at the National Teaching Institute, Institute for Healthcare Improvement, American Organization of Nurse Executives, Nursing Management Congress and the National Institute for Children鈥檚 Health Quality.
Dr. Mericle completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice program at Vanderbilt School of Nursing, earned her bachelor's degree from Columbia University and her master's degree in Clinical Leadership from Duke University School of Medicine.
