Coordinating medical care for a child with a complex medical condition can be challenging — and time-consuming. 91´óÉñ Children’s Hospital, Delaware recognizes that parents and guardians can use some help getting appointments with all the right specialists at their preferred location(s). That’s why we’ve created the Complex Scheduling Team. We’re here to help you get the care you need and want — and we’ll do our best to coordinate this care so that you can be as close to home as possible.

Our Complex Scheduling Team consists of  several designated schedulers to help families of children with complex medical conditions make all the appointments they need.

If your child’s diagnosis will require specialist treatment across many different medical disciplines, our complex schedulers can help. It’s their job to help families through the uncertainty surrounding a complex medical condition. We want to make sure you get appointments with the right physicians and providers for your child.

If you only need one or two appointments, the Access Center Team can easily assist you when you call. If your child/children need 3 or more specialty appointments or have some of the conditions listed below, please give us a call at (302) 651-4111. We will gather all your appointment needs and your availability. We’ll then work with individual departments to get an appointment plan together that will meet your needs. This may take us 1–3 days. Although we will try to get appointments on the same day, this will be dependent on the availability of the provider at your requested location.

Common Conditions

Complex Schedulers can help schedule appointments for children with conditions such as, but not limited to:

• Arthrogryposis
• Cerebral palsy
• Gender Wellness initial appointments
• Neurofibromatosis
• NICU follow-up
• Skeletal dysplasia
• Sleep apnea and other sleep problems
• Solid organ transplant-related diseases (kidney transplant and liver transplant)
• Spine deformities and scoliosis

Scheduling Appointments

To schedule your appointments using the Complex Scheduling Team, simply email ComplexSchedulingTeam@nemours.org. Our designated scheduler will help you make all of your appointments where and when you need them.
